GUELPH — Ben Flanagan and Jaimie Phelan look ahead with both excitement and a growing sense of sadness.

The St. Mary’s seniors added to their long list of achievements on Thursday at the Central Western Ontario cross-country championship, taking top spot in their respective races. Flanagan won the senior boys 7,000-metre race at the University of Guelph Arboretum in 22 minutes, 12.9 seconds, while Phelan won the senior girls 5,000-metre race in 18:39.6.
